Terms of service

These terms apply when you book plumbing work through this website or by calling the number on it. Local Rhodes Plumber is a trading name of Lime Plumbing and Drains.

Quotes and pricing

  • We come out and look at the job before we price it. There is no call out fee for a standard service call in our Sydney service area.
  • The price we give you is fixed for the work described in that quote, and it is the price on the invoice.
  • If we find something we did not expect once we start, we stop and tell you before we do anything about it. You decide whether to go ahead.
  • A quote is valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise on the quote.
  • Work outside the quote, including parts you ask us to supply later, is quoted separately.

Offers

Where an offer appears on this website, the conditions attached to it are shown with it. Offers cannot be used together unless we say so, and they apply to work carried out within our Sydney service area.

Booking, access and timing

  • We answer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we aim to attend the same day you call. Timing depends on where you are and what is already booked. We tell you honestly on the phone.
  • You need to give us safe access to the work area and to the water meter or isolation point.
  • If the property is a strata or company title building, we may need the owners corporation or the building manager to approve access before we start.
  • If nobody is there when we arrive at an agreed time, we may charge for the visit. We will tell you before that happens.

Payment

Payment is due on completion unless we have agreed something different in writing. We accept the payment methods shown on the invoice.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have services remedied if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

Workmanship and materials

Plumbing work is carried out by licensed plumbers, and gas work by a licensed gas fitter, to the relevant Australian Standards and the NSW Code of Practice. Materials we supply carry the manufacturer warranty that comes with them. Where a warranty on our workmanship applies to your job, the term is stated on your invoice.

Things outside our control

We are not responsible for a fault caused by something we did not install or work on, by fair wear and tear, by a third party, or by a condition we could not reasonably have found without opening up a wall, a slab or the ground.

Cancelling

Tell us as soon as you can if you need to cancel or move a booking. If we have already ordered a part specifically for your job we may charge you for it.

Problems

If something is not right, call us first and give us the chance to fix it. Most things are sorted out in one phone call.
